Mary Ellen Brennan has been a practicing attorney for 18 years. She has successfully prosecuted thousands of criminal cases since 1990 with hard work and common sense. She served for over six years at the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, where she was promoted through the Circuit Court, Child Sexual Assault and Family Support Divisions. She also served as a city prosecutor for Royal Oak for 4 years. Mary Ellen has extensive trial experience—both jury and bench—gained through over 10 years as a prosecutor.

Mary Ellen's experience extends beyond prosecuting criminal cases and is particularly suited to the diverse dockets handled by Oakland County Circuit Court Judges. While at the Oakland County Prosecutors Office, she was responsible for handling over 400 paternity case files dealing with the establishment of paternity, custody, support and parenting times for families. In this position and throughout her career, she has shown sensitivity to the needs of children and families.

Mary Ellen also served as Assistant Corporation Counsel at Meadowbrook Insurance Group in Southfield, experience which included handling civil claims and advising lawyers how to work through complicated legal matters in an ethical manner. Currently, she assists the judges of the 44th District Court as the Judicial Attorney/Case Coordinator, a position which involves her in all aspects of civil and criminal case management, including judicial decision-making and docket management.

Known for her work ethic and principled reasoning, Mary Ellen also has a reputation in the legal community for treating people with courtesy and respect.

Mary Ellen Brennan and her husband, Ed Lennon, have three children: Grace (age 13), Tom (age 10) and Abhi (age 9). Mary Ellen formerly resided in Royal Oak, and she and her family now live in Bloomfield Township.
